New Orleans Tradition Celebrates Its 26th Year!

French Quarter Easter Parade, LLC proudly presents the
26th Annual Chris Owens French Quarter Easter Parade on
Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.

The celebration starts at the Astor Crowne Hotel Ballroom at 11:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast, Hat Contest and entertainment. Riders will then hop on the floats at 1:00 p.m. and ride through the heart of the historic French Quarter. The parade will begin at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Streets, continue down Bourbon St. to St. Phillip, roll up to Decatur and conclude at Canal St. at the Astor Crowne Hotel. Following the parade, revelers can enjoy a champagne brunch while dancing to Jake and the Nifty 50’s.

As the Grand Duchess of the Easter Parade in New Orleans,
Chris Owens will be dressed in her personally designed Easter ensemble, complimented by her beautiful and exotic Easter bonnet. The Duchess leads the annual Easter Parade with family and friends, who will also be dressed in their best Easter attire.

The parade will be complete with colorful floats, marching bands, beads, Easter trinkets, and plenty of eager revelers.

The parade will stage on Canal and Iberville. Due to the parade, no vehicular traffic may drive down Iberville from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Vehicles may be allowed to drive down the cross streets and cross over Iberville. One lane of Canal will be closed from Burgundy to Charters as well.
